Adjustment Techniques

DIVERSIFIED TECHNIQUE
The Diversified Technique is the most common spine manipulation technique used by chiropractors. Diversified is characterized by a high-velocity low-amplitude thrust. It is considered the most generic manipulative technique and is differentiated from other techniques in that it's objective is to restore proper movement and alignment of spine and joint dysfunction.

THOMPSON TECHNIQUE
The Thompson Technique, also known as Thompson Drop-Table Technique, is a chiropractic technique which uses a precision adjusting table along with a weighing mechanism which gives sufficient tension to keep the patient in the "up" position before the thrust or pressure is applied. This technique comprises of a special table with several segments in it known as drop pieces.

These table segments can be lifted up a fraction of an inch, so that upon delivering the thrust, the table drops. This table is known as "Segmental Drop Table," and it helps in enhancing the motion of the area or segment which is to be adjusted, usually the mid-back, low back and pelvic area. These drop pieces aid in the thrust thus minimizing the force/pressure required for the adjustment.

IMPULSE IQ TECHNIQUE
Impulse adjusting is a new technique developed to provide controlled treatments to the specific areas you're having trouble with. Our chiropractors use the Impulse Adjusting Instrument to provide this treatment rather than the traditional manual methods. Impulse adjustments are high-tech.There is no popping or cracking with these adjustments , but rather very precise and targeted adjustments designed to specifically care for just the right areas.

*WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE?*
Chiropractic adjustments with the Impulse Adjusting Instrument(R) feel like a light tapping sensation on the area that is being treated. In most cases the treatment is painless and after the adjustment many patients feel relief of pain and improved mobility. Others report a sense of well-being or a soothing calm feeling. Of course, results vary from case to case and chronic conditions, inflammation or muscle spasms may delay these positive effects.

Years of research have gone into the development of the Impulse Instruments to create gentle chiropractic adjustments that are safe and effective for patients of all ages.
