About the Doctors

Dr. Todd Hatch

Dr. Todd Hatch“I believe that health care has been through significant changes in the past 10 to 15 years. Unfortunately part of that change has been the loss of the “family” doctor. One that will guide you through the maze of diagnostics, try to explain health problems or concerns in a way that the patient truly understands, refer you to other doctors and help you understand their findings, and treat the patient with the care, respect and compassion that they deserve.”

Dr. Hatch graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1987. After pursuing postgraduate classes on a part time basis for several years he began working toward his doctorate in 1990 at Texas Chiropractic College. As part of his extensive training he completed a neurosurgical rotation at the Medical Center in Houston Texas before receiving his Doctorate of Chiropractic in August of 1993. He has been with the Sunrise Chiropractic Group since graduating with his doctorate and he has been integral in the expansion and outreach efforts of Sunrise Chiropractic to the local community. He believes that educating his patients and the community in spinal health care, disease prevention, nutrition, and lifestyle changes is his calling and obligation. He has been involved in many professional and local organizations including the American Chiropractic Association, the Texas Chiropractic Association, Texas A&M Association of Former Students, multiple area Chamber of Commerce organizations, Space Center Rotary, and Wrangler Sports Chiropractic.

In an effort to better serve his patients and the community, Dr. Hatch has continued post graduate studies in multiple areas including nutritional supplementation, spinal rehabilitation and exercise, advanced treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome, history and treatment protocols of TMJ dysfunction, the non-invasive treatment of headache pain, and the use of cold laser therapy for a variety of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. He is licensed by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners. Additionally he is certified by the Texas Worker’s Compensation Commission (Texas Department of Insurance) as a Designated Doctor.

Dr. Hatch is frequently invited as a guest speaker by local professional and social groups and organizations in addition to being a guest columnist for several publications.

Dr. Ronald LaVoieDr. Ronald LaVoie
“When I was about 12 years old, I was talking to my Grandfather one day in the woods of the upper Northwestern Oregon forest. He had survived abdominal cancer by taking a less conventional route of treatment for that time, nutritional treatment. He was a straight forward individual, gruff at times and was a career mechanical engineer, who told it like it was. He proposed a thought to me that  sounded a little like this, he said “How is it that a person is to survive an illness, when the cure is just as dangerous? I have come to realize that if you can, you should build a stronger system to fight off disease.” It began to make sense to me. Why he had given up engineering, and opened up a health food store, devoting the rest of his days, to helping the people of his town become connected to that simple philosophy. After asking some serious questions about nutrition, he gave me an encyclopedia on nutritional supplements, and said that most of my answers were there if I was inclined to know more. I lost count of how many times that I read the book and that was 29 years ago. I was impressed with the knowledge. Realizing that I had some control over my healt and that I could help others help themselves,I became a Chiropractor.  It was the only Doctorate program that seemed to truly fit that philosophy to which I had become accustom to and have known  much of  my cognizant years. Times have changed and so has health care. More and more physicians are combining their high powered educations and concentrating their skills on the only thing that matters now, your health. The absence and prevention of disease. I want to be part of that team of fine physicians that help you live a better quality of life, for the rest of your life.”

Dr. LaVoie pursued his undergraduate studies at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. He received his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Texas Chiropractic College in August of 1993 where a portion of his training consisted of a neurosurgical hospital rotation at St. Luke's Hospital in Houston, Texas. Dr. Shane Hancock

" As a child it seemed that I was constantly getting into accidents or hurting myself. When I was a teenager my sister was dating a young man whose father was a chiropractor. After a rather serious motorcycle accident he suggested that I go see his father. Almost instantly after being examined, x-rayed and adjusted I felt great! Since that day I have been a believer in the benefits of chiropractic care. However, I was initially more interested in traditional medicine and I chose to work as a cardiology technician as I worked my way through school. I gradually became more and more troubled that under that model of health care it seemed as if nobody sought treatment until they were sick or suffering from disease. For that reason I decided to pursue my graduate studies in chiropractic health care. Through that pursuit I discovered that many problems cannot only be prevented but successfully treated through chiropractic care. I have found through my studies and clinical experience that having the human body and frame in proper alignment allows a person to live a happier healthier lifestyle."

Dr. Hancock is a long time resident of the Spring area and attended Spring High School. He proceeded to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Sam Houston State University. Shortly following his graduation he applied and was accepted to Texas Chiropractic College. He graduated Cum Laude with Omega Psi Honors obtained each semester. Additionally he was on the Dean’s list all three years as well as being a member of the Pi Kappa Chi business fraternity. After his graduation in 1993 he was the primary treating physician for a large rehabilitation practice supervising all aspects of patient rehabilitation and coordinating care with the staff medical doctors, counselors and physical therapists. Most recently he gained additional experience as the primary treating physician in a pain management and rehabilitation practice that included work hardening and work conditioning programs. This enables patients to return to work after devastating injuries. In addition to his other accomplishments, Dr. Hancock is approved as a level 2 doctor on the approved doctors list with the Texas Department of Insurance and Workers Compensation System and he is certified in electro-diagnosis needle EMG/NCV studies.
